With each command, it's assumed the installer is located in your 'Applications' folder and 'MyVolume' is the name of the USB flash drive. Connect the USB flash drive to the computer you wish to install macOS. When the new owner starts up the Mac, they can use their own information to complete setup.Once you have your bootable installer ready, it's time to move to the next step. When installation is complete, your Mac might start up to a setup assistant.Your Mac might restart and show a progress bar several times, and the screen might be empty for minutes at a time. Allow installation to complete without putting your Mac to sleep or closing its lid. If the installer doesn't see your disk, or it says that it can't install on your computer or volume, you might need to erase your disk first.If the installer offers the choice between installing on Macintosh HD or Macintosh HD - Data, choose Macintosh HD.If the installer asks to unlock your disk, enter the password that you use to log in to your Mac.Click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions. When you see a window with the option to reinstall macOS, your Mac has started up from Recovery. Then click Next and enter that user's administrator password, which is the password they use to log in to the Mac.
